I first heard Frazey Ford’s voice when she sang with the Be Good Tanyas. It’s such a compelling sound. I was very excited when she released her first solo album, because it had organs and a touch of soul music. It was like the best of all worlds. I love her second album even more! I can’t stop listening to it. It’s so gooooood.
The lyrics in the song “Done” resonate with me so much.

It’s so easy to focus on the negative in your own life, or in the world in general. I love that she says that her joy takes nothing from you, because it’s SO true. In fact, through this project I am learning that actually celebrating the joy and successes of other people is so important. It makes your own life a better place to live in.
