Nobody paints pinks the way that Maira Kalman does. I hope one day I can reach her level of mastery over the color pink. Every time I look at her work I think THAT’S IT! That’s the perfect pink. Then I turn the page and she has done it again. Her words are conversational & poetic at the same time. Her books all make me happy and transport me to somewhere else where the mundane is magical. She says the way to curate a life is to “live among things that make you gasp with delight.” Which is pretty much my mission statement for this project. I adore her. I am inspired by her. She is wonderful.
