6/100 Granny Style Crochet

I learned to crochet a few years ago. More than one person had tried to teach me prior to that. I ended up taking a class at a local yarn store, and finally something clicked. I have yet to make anything too demanding, because for some reason crochet and my brain just can’t get it together to be friends.

I do love me some granny squares though. I am currently working on what I believe will be a decade long project. It’s a rainbow blanket for my bed, all in granny hexagons. If I could go back and give myself some advice, I would totally pick different yarn for this king size blanket. I chose a very soft yarn, but it stretches and is kind of a nightmare for this kind of project. I am maybe 1/8th of the way though, which for all the starts and stops I’ve had on it, is actually pretty great.

My daughter Sadie wrapped up in my never ending granny hexagon blanket.

I decided to keep the blanket on my bed, even though it’s not anywhere near finished. I really want to love and worship it, even if it’s still in the becoming stage. I really can identify with that![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
