I don’t even know how to express the love I have for Tom Waits. I know he is one of those artists that inspires a cult like devotion, and there is a good reason for that. It’s because he is amazing. I admire the way that he is always stretching and trying new things. I love the tone of his voice, and the fact that he uses a lot of accordions in his work.
I distinctly recall the first time I saw him, which was on the weird little show called Fernwood 2 night (thanks again Nick at Nite!). I was maybe 10 or 11, and I was immediately smitten. After that I was forever a Tom Waits fan.
