True Stories is a film about a bunch of people in Virgil Texas. It was made by David Byrne of the band The Talking Heads in 1986. The Talking Heads wrote the songs for the movie, and they are so good! I love love love this movie. I remember renting it as a kid & being in LOVE with Swoosie Kurtz. She plays the laziest woman in the world & I was inspired by her. She sits in bed & watches TV all day. She even has a robotic arm to feed her! She is by no means the central part of the film, just a great character in an ensemble piece. I love this movie because it has great music, an amazing cast, & is just a really sweet piece on eccentric people.
